- increase flexibility
- clear stagnation
- helps calm the nervous system
- reduces myofascial adhesion
- decreases muscle dysfunction
- promotes cell repair
- increases circulation
What to expect
A relaxing environment with soothing sounds and soft light to help ease you in to your massage no matter the time of day. Relaxing and restorative care is always our aim so we can really promote healing during your session. Dress down to your comfort level, and your therapist will make sure to keep you appropriately covered while working on different body areas. Communication is important, make sure to give honest feedback to your therapist so they can tailor your session to fit your needs. Also, let your therapist know of any sensitive areas, or if you want to skip any body areas all together.
Several different techniques may be used during your session including manual therapy, assisted stretching, hot stones, vibration, and aromatherapy. Most massage treatments are comfortable and relaxing. Some discomfort may be felt while very tight muscle fibers are targeted. But, the pain is usually brief and always worth it in the end! Patients usually feel quite relaxed after massage therapy. Recovery time is usually minimal, but may involve some soreness. Make sure to drink plenty of water before and after your session to help speed healing. Your therapist may give you additional recovery instructions at the time of your visit.
Our goal is to provide therapeutic AND relaxing massages to optimize function while decreasing pain. We always give customized treatment plans to help each person’s body heal. Supporting in-office therapy with home care stretching and/or exercises helps to fix the problem and keeps it from reoccurring.
