What is cupping Therapy?

Cupping is a soothing musculoskeletal therapy that involves placing specialized cups on the skin and creating suction.
Several types of cupping therapy have been widely used around the world for many years. Stationery cupping therapy involves placing cups on the skin (glass or silicone) and leaving them there for a period of time. The cups draw fluid and blood to them helping to increase circulation of the body’s fluids.
Cupping can also be performed by moving the cups around on the skin after the suction is created. The movement focuses in on myofascial release and helps restore the proper function of the fascial layer of the body. Both cupping techniques yield great results, they just target different issues.
How can cupping help me?

- reduces myofascial adhesion
- decreases muscle dysfunction
- promotes cell repair
- increases circulation
- helps reduce the appearance of cellulite
what can i expect With Cupping Therapy?
A soothing treatment experience is what we aim for with cupping therapy. Relaxing and restorative care is always our aim so we can really promote healing during care. Cupping therapy is a great option for people who need more intense muscle therapy but aren’t good candidates for dry needling.
After clinical evaluation, patients can expect a 20-30 minute customized treatment session. Most cupping treatments are comfortable and relaxing. Some discomfort may be felt while moving cupping is performed as myofascial adhesions are broken up. But, the minimal pain is usually brief and always worth it in the end!
Optimizing function while decreasing pain is always our top priority. We always give customized treatment plans to help each person’s body heal. Supporting in-office therapy with home care stretching and/or exercises helps to fix the problem and keeps it from reoccurring.
What are those marks after cupping?
You may have seen the discoloration left after treatment- circles that appear like bruises. The marks left after treatment are simply showing the evidence of toxins being drawn to the surface to be cleared away by the body’s circulatory system. They don’t hurt like a bruise and are not dangerous. The marks usually disappear an hour to a few days after treatment.
